October 2nd lesson

Dear students,
Last week you took a social issues survey and presented a balanced argument about one of the questions in the survey to other pairs in your class. Today, you will choose one of the questions in the survey again, but this time choose to persuade other groups why your opinion is correct.

The numbers in the files below correspond to row numbers in the order that the survey was answered last week. Find your row number. Then find your group members (the numbers nearest you are people who share similar opinions to you).

Period 1 (8:50am to 10:20am)
Period 2 (10:30am to 12:00pm)

Your organization for your presentation should be as follows:

Introduction
Why our group agrees / disagrees with question number x; reason 1
Why our group agrees / disagrees with question number x; reason 2
Why our group agrees / disagrees with question number x; reason 3
Why people of the opposite opinion to us are wrong
Conclusion

You should work in pairs or threes today (see graph above).

Kind regards,
Chris Elvin
